HE kingdom of Dorne has only been part of the Seven Kingdoms for a few short generations. Now, the land's peace is under threat following the execution of the Targaryen lady Amerys, wife of the Crown Prince of Dorne. The Kingdom has split once more into pieces; war brews in the south along the border of the Stormlands, and all borders to Dorne have closed. No word has come from the kingdom of Dorne since reports of the execution crashed into King's Landing in a storm of ravens. Letters have gone unanswered, scouts and messengers haven't been heard from again. King Rhaenys, furious about the death of his niece, is amassing an army to march directly to the Sunspear and seize control from House Martell.
EANWHILE, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch is drawing complaints in the north. Those who guard the Wall have always been the worst of the worst in Westeros - murderers and rapers, thieves and debtors and anyone else who doesn't belong in the south - but the things that the Lord Commander is doing to those poor, unfortunate souls who are under his command... some say they're downright evil.
AR brews in every corner of Westeros. The Iron Islands and Casterly Rock are forever at each others' throats, and the power-hungry Freys threaten to expand their land beyond The Twins.
